    HOW YOU LIKE ‘DEM APPLES?

    We love em’ ripe and ready for the picking! The weather has turned crisp, so throw on your favorite hoodie, grab your loved ones, and head out to one of the area’s local orchards to stock up on the Season’s best varieties. Don’t forget to stock up on Cider Donuts while you’re at it! Here is a list of some of our favorite options:

    Melicks Town Farm: Califon, NJ

    (Pro Tip: Stop in for a fresh and locally sourced meal at Bex Kitchen )

    Come Mid-October, while the apples may be picked over, Pumpkins will be in plentiful supply and high demand. Head over to any one of these Family-Friendly Pumpkin Fests and scope out the perfect candidate for painting or carving!

    *Channel THE FORCE and make like Luke Skywalker at the Light Saber Workout. The event will be taking place Sat. 10/8 from 11-11:45 at the Hilton Branch, and is best for ages 5+.

    *Head to the Main Library Friday, 10/14 from 3:30-4:30pm with littles of all ages, and watch as their creativity runs wild during “Lego Club”.

    *On Tuesday, 10/18 from 6-7pm, join some Furry Friends for Bow Wow Book Buddies at the Hilton Branch, and allow your littles to hone their storytelling skills alongside some happy pups!

    A FALL FEST IN FIVE MINUTES (OF DRIVING TIME) OR LESS

    We totally understand that with the commencement of the new school year, schedules are new, manic, and may not always allow for a drive out to the Country. For those craving all the amenities of the season, with 1/8th the commute, might we recommend The Greenwood Gardens: History and Harvest Celebration. Hope to see you there!

    New Jersey Magazine recently rolled out their Top 25 Restaurants, and it should come as no surprise that reliable Maplewood favorites such as Verjus and Lorena’s were among the honorees.
