    Maplewoodstock: Maplewood

THIS WEEKEND! Peace, love, music, beer. For two days each July this magal listicle of nouns converges at Memorial Park, as locals make temporary habitats atop blankets listening to some of the most talented figures in regional and international music. This local homage to that “one legendary festival Upstate”  that our relatives only tell us half truths about, brings all the best elements of Art, Music, and Community to the table, featuring a line-up of impeccable live music, art, and even children’s activities. Be sure to book your sitter in advance for Saturday and Sunday evening’s headliners, Railroad Earth and NRBQ, and then grab a craft brew from the beer garden and immerse yourself in the sounds that reverberate off of our iconic Maple landscape. Did your Grandma also tell you there is no such thing as a free lunch? Grab a latte at Starbucks, and relax to musical vibrations hovering overhead in Spiotta Park, located at the intersection of South Orange Avenue and Village Plaza. Summer Concert Series at Flood’s Hill: South Orange

So, if you can’t tell by now, we are large proponents of live entertainment and al fresco dining in the Summer Months. To that end, be sure not to miss one of the most epic Motown revival bands, Dr. K’s Motown Review, as they lay down some heart soothing soul July 13th from 7:30 – 11:59pm.

On July 20th, unpack your Nirvana tee and get your grunge on as Nine Deez Nite kicks off at 7:30pm, with an evening filled with covers from arguably our greatest decade. By the time you wander home you’ll be dancing amongst the crowd more willingly than the loveable bumblebee from that one Blind Melon video, back when MTV played videos and Kurt Loder gave you your news.  Pro-tip: Grab some wings or a hearty quesadilla from nearby Tito’s Burritos, and don’t sweat the Carbs, because the 90’s was the “low-fat” era, so you’re totally fine.

    Farmer’s Markets:

We get it, those “pick your own” produce adventures are a blast, but few of us have time to trek it to Califon or Chester every week. Luckily, from May to November, the farmers are heading East! Stop by your local farmer’s market each week to grab the freshest produce and artisanal items, sure to make your summertime al fresco menu a hit!

Maplewood Farmer’s Market: Every Monday, 2pm-7pm, at the intersection of Springfield and Indiana. Pro Tip: visit the Pickle Guy, you will not be disappointed.

South Orange Farmer’s Market: Every Wednesday, 2pm- 7:30pm, in the Sloan Street Lot of South Orange Village. For updated vendor list visit http://www.sovillagecenter.org

Millburn Farmer’s Market:  Every Tuesday, 9am – 3pm, near the intersection of Essex and Main Street. Don’t miss the pastries!
